How It Works
Advanced AI Segmentation Technology
Our body composition analysis uses a novel AI model (convolutional neural network) specifically trained to identify and segment three critical tissue compartments in abdominal MRI images:
- Visceral Fat - fat stored around internal organs, associated with metabolic health risks
- Subcutaneous Fat - fat stored under the skin
- Skeletal Muscle - muscle tissue essential for movement and metabolism
The AI model has been trained on thousands of manually annotated MRI scans to achieve high accuracy in tissue identification.

Population Comparison

Example of population distribution comparison The red star shows your result. The curves show the percentiles (5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 95%) of the population. 50% would be the average of the population. The y-axis shows the volume of the compartment in liters per square meter.
Your results are compared against a reference database of over 9,000 subjects across different age groups and both sexes.
This comparison allows you to understand:
- How your body composition compares to others of your age and sex
- Which percentile your measurements fall into
- Whether your values are within typical ranges
This contextual information helps you better understand your results and set appropriate health goals.
The Analysis Process
Upload
You upload your abdominal MRI scan (DICOM files) through our secure platform.
AI Processing
Our AI model processes your images, identifying and segmenting the different tissue types.
Volume Calculation
The system calculates precise volumes for each tissue compartment across all slices of your scan.
Population Comparison
Your results are compared to our reference database, generating percentile rankings.
Report Generation
A comprehensive PDF report is generated with visualizations and explanations of your results.
Scientific Background
Body composition analysis provides valuable insights beyond what traditional metrics like BMI can offer:
Visceral Fat & Body Composition
Understanding visceral fat distribution can help inform your fitness goals and lifestyle choices. This measurement provides more detailed information than overall weight, allowing for more targeted training and nutrition strategies.
Muscle Mass & Physical Performance
Tracking muscle volume provides insights into your strength potential and physical capabilities. This information can help you design more effective workout routines and understand how your body responds to different training approaches.
Body Fat Distribution
The ratio between visceral and subcutaneous fat offers a more complete picture of your body composition than weight or BMI alone. This information can help you better understand your unique body type and tailor your fitness approach accordingly.
Tracking Progress
Our analysis allows precise tracking of changes in body composition in response to diet, exercise, or lifestyle modifications, helping you understand exactly where changes are occurring and adjust your approach for optimal results.
Data Security & Privacy
